Mark These Final 2017 Tax Dates on Your Calendar

Below are some of the most important business tax deadline dates remaining in 2017. We’ll walk you through each of them.

September 15, 2017:

3rd Quarter Estimated Tax Payments Due
If you pay quarterly estimated tax payments for your business, then they will be due by September 15.

Corporate Tax Extension Final Deadline
If you have already requested (and have been granted) a tax extension for your 2016 tax returns, September 15 will be the final deadline to file. You will use Forms 1120, 1120A and 1120S.

October 16, 2017:

Self-Employed Individual Extension Deadline
If you are a self-employed individual and have been granted a tax extension, October 16 is the final deadline to file your 2016 tax returns using Forms 1040, 1040A and 1040EZ.

C-Corporations Extension Deadline
C-corporations who have been granted a tax extension for 2016 tax returns will also be required to file by October 16. This is the final deadline and you will use Form 1120.

Electronically Filed Tax Return Deadline
October 16 is the final day that the IRS will accept an electronically filed tax return. A paper filing will be required if you miss this particular deadline.

December 15, 2017:

4th Quarter Estimated Tax Payments Due
If you pay quarterly estimated tax payments for your business, December 15 will be the deadline to submit your final payment of 2017.
